For Hanuman – 38

Idol in pocket, tattoos on the back,

Plaything of those who knowledge do lack.

Of him true is everything you’ve heard,

Of devotion mighty, in resolve undeterred.

To dismiss him as mythology refuse,

Risk not his association to lose.

Chant his name, give up misconceptions bad,

That he’s there to teach devotion be always glad.

For Hanuman – 37

If think you bhakti only for the weak,

Example of Hanuman always keep.

Before Rama he remains humble and small,

In serving His interests always standing tall.

Fights off Rakshasas of immense strength,

Crosses ocean of insurmountable length.

Same strength in others he gives,

If in devotion to him they live.

For Hanuman – 36

For bhakti-yoga not just a single way,

Can read books, holy names can say.

Look at Hanuman if me you don’t believe,

His devotion of ways mind never could conceive.

With his friends the earth he scoured,

And then seemingly by demon devoured.

Becoming large first and then small there,

Singing or fighting, in devotion everywhere.

For Hanuman – 35

All siddhis in his possession indeed,

But calls upon them only on need.

Became large for to cross ocean with leap,

Then for search size of small cat to keep.

No ego in him, to others still to pray,

In meeting Sita first Rama to say.

To always remember him my desire,

In glorifying him may I never tire.

For Hanuman – 34

For mysticism difficult yoga you do,

Bend your body and hold your breath too.

From all this what will you gain?

With siddhis still your position the same.

By cheating fools don’t be confused.

All abilities for devotion only to be used,

Like Hanuman who first turned large,

And then like a cat in Lanka to charge.

For Hanuman – 33

That monkey playing music with his hands,

Who his amazing devotion can understand?

For Rama to Ravana’s city he was sent,

With weight on shoulders valiantly he went.

For him this was no feat at all,

To do even more he’s awaiting the call.

Since Shri Rama has servant the best,

I know he is God, from Hanuman the test.

For Hanuman – 32

Finally Lanka’s city to enter,

Darkness of night not to deter.

For him moon was there bright,

Gifted celestials with Hanuman’s sight.

Use your own light of the mind,

For Hanuman’s location to find.

With his name whether in trouble or distress,

Rama’s dearest servant with humility address.

For Hanuman – 29

Of all the worshipable he is my guy,

To think of him always I try.

Rama and Lakshmana prefer him I know,

On his shoulders without hesitation they go.

Sita on him beautiful necklace placed,

Along his sturdy neck it graced.

If in him they invest so much trust,

Honor Hanuman daily you must.
