Journey through life of anger and hate,

Death to come one day, everyone’s fate.

Before to arrive that dreaded time,

Let me make the most of this life of mine.

Praise for Hanuman let me offer some,

For in devotion better than him there are none.

To most blessed Sita and Rama he’s dear,

Devotion to him to conquer greatest fear.

For poetic composition no skill,

In strong embarrassment to continue still.

Only one thing to cover my shame,

That I include Shri Hanuman’s name.

Since to Sita and Rama he’s so dear,

Must write something despite my fear.

Like ant challenging mountain, an order tall,

Upon the son of the wind for help I call.

Though vile and full of worst thoughts,

This knowledge a smile to my face has brought.

That my foremost preference the same,

As one who always chants Rama’s name.

I too the Ramayana enjoy to read,

Hunger for something better to feed.

To surpass Hanuman’s character there are none,

By his service favor of Sita and Rama won.

At night tired in bed to lie,

Review of previous day to try.

I know good was the day,

If once Hanuman’s name did say.

If my thoughts to him went,

Then into bliss heart was sent.

If not then lost chance the cost,

In regret throughout the night to toss.

In singing over his full heart to give,

Simple life in devotion to live.

Though in yoga he has every strength,

With massive stride can pass any length,

Only one thing he wants still,

For thoughts of Rama his mind to fill.

By Sita to live in destitution never,

To chant their names forever and ever.

Since for Rama completed so many a task,

From Him any boon they could ask.

Wealth, beauty, ever-lasting fame,

Through God anything possible to gain.

To Hanuman Rama the world ready to give,

But asked only for in devotion to Him to live.

Showed that above all else this the best,

Gift of devotion to surpass all the rest.

When given necklace ever beautiful so,

Thought better if to Hanuman to go.

Janaka’s daughter of most beautiful face,

Took necklace for on Hanuman to place.

Since then their place in his heart set,

All tools for worship from Sita to get.

By her mercy never he is poor,

Their glories he chants always for sure.

Returning to Ayodhya time now came,

To install on throne prince of Raghu’s fame.

With blessed event so many gifts He gave,

For wife Sita beautiful necklace to save.

Reading her eyes could see where her mind set,

Sanctioned the necklace for Hanuman to get.

First her whereabouts from Lanka retrieved,

And now from blessed lady best gift received.

On Pushpaka car towards home they went,

To meet Bharata first Hanuman was sent.

Same servant who to Lanka had gone,

Now in Ayodhya to set foot upon.

Mood of Rama’s brother to tell,

Whether joy or trouble to spell.

Like Rama and Bharata brothers two,

Forever trust in Hanuman I do.

Remorse for them none,

Hanuman to have justice be done.

With torments coming from front and back,

Innocent Sita with words they attacked.

Now desired to pieces to tear,

But kind Sita their lives did spare.

Still beautiful is his burning fire,

Compassion for God it does inspire.
