For Sita – 31

One day by Janaka a baby was found,

While for sacrifice cultivating the ground.

The king of so many virtues untold,

Through Sita even more fortune to unfold.

When perfect husband for daughter sought,

Contest of the bow Hari to kingdom brought.

Through Janaka Sita to become Rama’s wife,

Forever devoted to them, in life after life.

For Sita – 30

Despite possessing virtues many,

King Janaka having children not any.

For sacrifice while ploughing the ground,

Most beautiful baby girl was found.

Soon time for her marriage came.

His worries in royal priests king confided,

Fortune in disguise, contest of the bow was decided.

Like wealth vanishing just after twas gained.

Despite attached with affection and care,

To drop righteousness not to dare.

Contest to find man of real strength, no bluff.

Sita and Rama joined through his respect,

Auspicious results for devotee to expect.

For Sita – 28

How there is a God do I know?

Just to Tirahuta’s land go.

Beautiful baby girl found there,

Goddess of fortune, of complexion so fair.

To most righteous man of dispassion she came,

To be his daughter, known by Sita the name.

Only God this arrangement could make,

In that field king most fortunate blessing to take.

For Sita – 27

When Supreme Lord’s consort to come,

Where to appear, in land which one?

Her enchanting vision town of Mithila graced.

Known also then by Janaki sound.

In behavior and etiquette raised ideal,

Entire family most fortunate to feel.

For Sita – 26

Janaka the chosen one,

To receive a daughter like others none.

First to see her endearing face,

When ploughing ground for sacrifice’s place.

The king known as the pious and modest,

Happily accepted her though in circumstance the oddest.

Gave her name Sita most befitting,

Her image forever in his heart sitting.

For Sita – 25

With name of Janaki can think of two,

King of Mithila and his daughter too.

Certainly no flaw in other name taking,

Lakshmi or Shri suitable for prayer making.

But Janaki reveals that to king she came,

Who gave to her shelter and Sita the name.

His precious to protect his lifelong vow,

To honor them both I seize the chance now.

For Sita – 24

As goddess of fortune to all known,

Highest devotion for husband she owns.

For her beauty, stature and fame,

Known by countless a blessed name.

Janaki and Sita preference of mine,

Related to king of virtues’ goldmine.

To enhance his glory through Janaki the name.

For Sita – 23

So many marriages of world unfold,

But which has the story best ever told?

Of Janaki’s auspiciousness hard to match,

By contest of bow greatest fortune to catch.

Daughter of king, pious in every way,

Same of Rama too all did say.

Their meeting of boundless treasure store,

Story a joy to the ear, of hearing never to bore.

For Sita – 22

Caught in dilemma, bound by dharma’s rope,

No chance to use matching horoscope.

As since in the field as child was found,

Unable to get time of birth sound.

Because so many works for God had done,

Divine wisdom to pious king did come.

Contest of the bow divine arrangement,

World to vie for her hand’s attainment.
