Rama swiftly to the forest went,

After orders by wicked Kaikeyi sent.

Not her fault these events to unfold,

Since yogamaya having a hold.

Lakshmana and Sita to Him insisted,

From their plan to follow not desisted.

In this way pleasurable image made,

And in hearts of saints it stayed.

Kaikeyi by Manthara manipulated,

Exile for Rama to Dasharatha stated.

Lord waiting not even for deliberation,

Accepting order without hesitation.

God’s full renunciation in this way know,

Ready for anywhere to go.

Then why in this wretch’s heart can’t He stay?

Standing with bow guiding the way.

Rama in Ayodhya happily living,

Fair punishment to violators giving.

So that not against Him a grudge,

Since knowing His impartiality to judge.

Imagine then what to devotees bringing,

Who His glories with heartfelt love singing.

Good qualities difficult in me to find,

Still that beloved of Janaki in mind.

Shri Rama the Supreme I call,

Superior to avataras them all.

Even defeated Parashurama of raging fire,

Extinguished that warrior’s ire.

Steady in the righteous path going,

Affection for Sita and Lakshmana showing.

Why to any other will I go?

To them I emphatically say “no.”

So much of Vedic philosophy to hear,

Yet one thing certain to me clear.

That Shri Rama God the only one,

An equal to Him there is none.

Since Sita Devi always by His side,

And Lakshmana over protection to preside.

And Hanuman bravely for Him going,

For me no other Lord knowing.

What more of Shri Rama to know?

Just to famous day in Tirahuta go.

When with ease bow of Shiva lifted,

Precious sight to pious gifted.

Beloved Sita in marriage taking,

Worshipable couple for this soul making.

Despite having faults so many,

Chance I’ll leave them not any.

Rama eternally as pati to say,

Her hand from Him not to get away.

That in this heart together always to stay,

This to them I humbly pray.

Qualifications having none,

Just a recollection one.

That Rama in victory with bow standing,

And Janaka to Him daughter handing.

Of endless line never to tire,

Princes assembled in competitive fire.

Simple, just for Shiva’s bow to take,

Then winner of Sita’s hand to make.

But Lakshmana’s brother destiny fulfilling,

In blink of an eye, for Janaka most thrilling.

By Rama brought to an end,

Shouts of victory pious to send.

For hand of princess so many to long,

Ready for contest rewarding the strong.

Still not even an inch to move,

Their fallibility for everyone to prove.

No, only for Rama is Sita meant,

Finally to bow by Vishvamitra sent.

First from Shiva, he of ashes wearing,

Soon God the winner Janaka declaring.

Hanuman and Sita the highest I know,

And Lakshmana with Him wherever to go.

All saying one thing the same,

That Divine is Lord of Rama the name.

From Him this and every world created,

Matching what in Bhagavad-gita stated.

Other proof for me what need?

Their authority impeccable will I heed.
