Wanting desperately to see God soon,

But devotion thereafter true boon.

Vibhishana after brother renounced,

Continued with royal devotion pronounced.

Rukmini won over first by hearing,

Then Krishna for her path clearing.

Arjuna saw Lord in so many ways,

In whatever work in devotion stays.

To destroy world when time to expire,

Acting as spiritual master for population entire.

To demons some good association giving,

For pious blessings for devotional living.

In charge of mode of ignorance though,

Spotless is his character know.

Lord Shiva, in Kashi giving jewel of the ear,

Departing souls name of Rama to hear.

Bhagavad-gita Krishna’s words to say,

Sent to distressed warrior’s way.

Having to work just as much relevance,

What is not there, remarks of absence.

Arjuna told that he is God never,

Nor that happiness in kama forever.

God a person, different from you and me,

Be devoted to Him and from maya be free.

Since God with eyes can’t see,

Why dedicated to Him I should be?

Or perhaps maybe just like me,

From merging meditation to be free.

Vedas these misconceptions clearing,

All-attractive Krishna, not one to be fearing.

Dedicated with thought, word and deed,

From the illusion of ignorance be freed.

For cure getting hand to heal,

For better in this existence to feel.

But many things that hand to stop,

Attachment to objects, never to drop.

And as sectarian way to think,

In impersonalism perhaps to sink.

Today so many objects of infatuation,

Chant holy names and remove obstruction.

Material existence with miseries three,

Each person in some way to see.

But Krishna Himself able to transcend,

Downpour and forest fire away can send.

For the devotees protection giving,

Changing nature for improved living.

Getting closer to Him with each step,

Bliss even from separation to get.

Despite impurities to see,

Any place auspicious can be.

Like when Krishna in jail cell appearing,

Before parents from Kamsa were fearing.

Not Supreme God status after to adore,

Lord’s divine nature determined before.

To Devaki the demigods prayed,

In whose womb Lord of universe stayed.

In goodness poisonous taste at the start,

Then with time gradually to depart.

Can make better time in middle to spend,

To bring more quickly nectar awaiting at end.

Follow the regulative principles four,

And associate with devotees more.

Then appreciation of Krishna to increase,

Loving sentiments in chanting to release.

Shri Krishna never angry to see,

In youthful appearance always is He.

Without vengeance to live,

Forgetfulness of Him ready to forgive.

Compelled to do anything never,

Can play His flute forever and ever.

Every opulence of Him an endless study,

Highest bliss for those with devotion steady.

Before Ravana, Kamsa and Hiranya to come,

But proper benefit for them was none.

When only sense gratification I know,

Why God His form obligated to show?

What qualification in me,

That Divine vision I should see?

Only when with material pursuits done,

And impurities in consciousness none.
