For Hanuman – 8

Alliance between prince and monkey strange,

But all by Shri Hanuman arranged.

To Sugriva Rama surely to do good,

That friendship with God is best understood.

Through Hanuman king’s interest was met,

Divine association immediately to get.

To him in troubled times my attention sent,

On whose shoulders Rama and Lakshmana went.

For Hanuman – 7

Three Vedas and Sanskrit he does know,

Into strange territory never afraid to go.

Descending from Mount Rishyamukha,

With instructions guise of brahmana took.

With Rama and Lakshmana immediately trust,

That kings should form alliance a must.

He in whose heart devotion always beating,

Made a reality Sugriva and Rama’s meeting.

For Hanuman – 6

Meeting Rama and Lakshmana just one time,

With his words of praise he did shine.

That he was a stranger no concern,

Trust of brothers instantly earned.

On his shoulders then brothers to keep,

Reached Rishyamukha with giant leap.

Trusted by Rama so then why not by you?

Will carry to heights you never before knew.

For Hanuman – 5

When meeting Hanuman along their way,

Words of wisdom to brother Rama did say.

From aid to Sugriva that Hanuman did give,

Without such servant how any king could live?

How with gaining objectives to reside,

If minister like Hanuman not on your side?

That Hanuman Shri Rama knows the best,

With devotion to him may I always be blessed.

For Hanuman – 4

Such a mischievous child was he,

Sages alone would not let be.

To scatter about here and there,

To disturb them without a care.

Playing pranks without getting caught,

Delight to mother this certainly brought.

Glimpse of his future this did reveal,

Like finding Sita whom Ravana did steal.

For Hanuman – 3

Vayu and Anjana in union as one,

The result was most glorious son.

Seeing splendorous sun in the sky,

To capture it himself he tried.

With king of heaven this well did not sit,

By famed thunderbolt he was then hit.

From then on by name of Hanuman to go,

All benedictions on him celestials bestowed.

For Hanuman – 2

Because joyous occasion to me did bring,

Of your glories I promised to sing.

Since failure to describe crippled by fear,

So of undertaking task I steered clear.

But to the vow I had given voice,

So now to write, there is no choice.

My ability not so great, surely you know,

Still, my mind your glories to not let go.

For Hanuman – 1

After dream of victory you chase,

Time soon that joy to erase.

“The best” others to call you today,

A “has been” then tomorrow to say.

When from fame lost mind to sink,

On Hanuman’s splendid glory think.

Today and forever he is known,

For the exclusive devotion he owns.

For Hanuman – Auspicious Invocation

All glories to Ganesha, Parvati’s son,

In this endeavor pray there be obstacles none.

Full homage to Uma, the mountain’s daughter,

And to Shankara, who holds Ganga’s water.

Humble obeisances to His Divine Grace I give,

Saved from ignorance, now in his light to live.

With dust of lotus feet of all Vaishnavas I go,

That success only by their blessings I know.

For Rama – 108

To Valmiki no way to repay,

And of Tulsidas what can I say?

In darkest world like shining light,

From a few verses this face to alight.

When way through life to forget,

Reminded of Rama, mind to reset.

Like fully blossoming a desire tree,

From sound no more rebirth to see.
